Goal - $40,000 Funds raised by the PTA provide our school with resources including technology, cultural events, classroom periodicals, parent involvement resources and much more.
Timeline – March 2nd – 22nd Donation forms will go home with students the first week of March. Forms and money can be sent in any time prior to March 22nd to be counted towards the rewards. We are accepting donations through PayPal this year!! Find the link on the HES homepage. March 22nd – turn in deadline for ALL forms, money & online donations! *Please turn in all money and the donation form(s) at one time.
Challenges – Global Question, Global Math Problem and P.E. Laps In support of our school’s global initiative efforts this year, the academic portion of the testing will consist of one reading response component and one math component per grade level that ties into what students are learning about the continent their class is studying. The physical fitness portion of the testing will be conducted by Coach Wolfe during P.E. classes and will consist of completing laps around the gym. The laps will be converted into miles to see where each class could have traveled around the world.
Donation Form Included you will find a sponsor sheet. We will be collecting flat rate donations and we encourage your child to ask family members and friends to make a donation to support them in their efforts. We are able to accept online donations this year—find the link to pay by PayPal on the HES homepage! Rewards will be given for donations raised. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD GO DOOR TO DOOR SEEKING SPONSORS. Matching Gifts – They DO count towards the rewards! Many companies have programs that match charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses. Last year, we received matching funds from Duke Energy, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and TIAA Cref to name a few. Please check to see if your employer will do the same. This is a large source of our fundraising so please check with your employer! There is an extensive Matching Funds list that can be accessed on the PTA website. *A service charge will be applied to any and all checks written to Harrisburg Elementary School or Harrisburg Elementary PTA that are returned for insufficient funds.
