Hello! I am Melody Marsh, the Principal at Royal Oaks Elementary School. Education has always been a top priority for me, and I consider myself blessed to be able to do what I love. I am originally from Salisbury, North Carolina and am a graduate of South Rowan High School. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I returned to Cabarrus County and became a teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary, where I taught for 14 years. During that time I also completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education through UNCC, as well as my National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards. After so many years in the classroom, I decided I would like to become an administrator. I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree of School Administration from UNCC. I then served as the Assistant Principal at Royal Oaks Elementary for two years and for one year at Charles E. Boger Elementary School. I am extremely excited about returning to Royal Oaks Elementary as the Principal.
My philosophy of education is simple. I believe all children can learn. The key is learning what each student needs and personalizing their education to align with those needs. The challenge is making learning meaningful and engaging and tapping into student interests. The joy is convincing students they are capable of achieving anything they set their mind to! The reward is changing lives…one day at a time. Thank you for the warm welcome to Royal Oaks School!
Welcome! My name is Molly Carlberg and I am the Assistant Principal for Instruction at Royal Oaks Elementary. I grew up in Waxhaw, North Carolina and graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I received a Master's in Reading Instruction (K-12) from UNCC and I also attended Queens University of Charlotte where I graduated from the School Executive Leadership Program with an Administration degree. I feel fortunate for the opportunity to begin my twelfth year at Royal Oaks. I taught Kindergarten and first grade for nine years and was a lead teacher for two years. This is my second year as an administrator and I love it! I am proud to be a Rocket!
My vision as a leader is to build a climate in our school that inspires others to work at their best potential. I will provide the best learning environment for all students by creating a partnership with parents, teachers, and the community. I will remain focused, be supportive, find solutions, communicate, and use data to make important decisions that are always in the best interest of our learners. I will strive to create moments and establish traditions that will have a lasting impact on the lives of our students. We will set high expectations and reach beyond that. WE WILL DREAM BIG.
