A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 01/11/2016
Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
I hope your winter break was fantastic and that you’re rested, refreshed and ready to take on the second half of the school year.
A new year is a time for new beginnings. It’s a chance for a fresh start and to recommit to habits that are beneficial to our and our students well-being – not just habits like eating healthy and exercising more – habits like being more involved in school activities and student learning.
I encourage you to renew your commitment to supporting our students for the remainder of the year. There are lots of ways you can help. Inquire at a school or ask a teacher to find out how.
Before we can officially launch into the second semester, we have to close out the first one. High school students will take end-of-course exams
this week. Several schools still need exam proctors, so if you can help out, please do.
The next few months promise to be busy with budget season, the roll out of our 10-year facilities plan to our school board and to our county commissioners, preparations for the opening of the new W.R. Odell Elementary School for grades 3-5
in August, as well as ground-breaking celebrations for the new Royal Oaks Elementary School
and Mount Pleasant Middle School
And of course, we will continue to educate our students inside the classroom and offer them a variety of opportunities to engage their interests outside the classroom.
We appreciate your continued support and thank you for allowing us to educate your children. It is our honor and privilege to do so.
Christopher Lowder, Ed.D.
