During the 2015-2016 school year I will be the 6th grade level administrator. I will also serve as a point person for scheduling and the Exceptional Children’s program.
I have resided in the Charlotte area for almost thirteen years, but grew up in Middlebury, Connecticut. I moved to the area after graduating from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in History. My background in the field of education includes teaching third and fourth grade for ten years in Cabarrus County and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. In my second year of teaching, I received the Who’s Who in Teaching Award. Most recently, I served as the Dean of Students at Steele Creek Elementary in CMS and an Assistant Principal in Union County for two years. In May of 2013, I graduated from Gardner-Webb University with my Executive Leadership degree. In my spare time, I have coached numerous baseball teams; including a Nation’s Baseball team, which was ranked top ten in the nation. This year at C.C. Griffin, I will serve as the 8th grade administrator and co-leader of transportation.
I was born in Kentucky and raised here in Concord from 3rd Grade at Odell Elementary to Northwest Middle School and graduating from Northwest Cabarrus High School. I graduated from Montana State University-Northern with my B.S. in Elementary Education and then Montana State University with an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership after having served four years in the United States Air Force. I've taught at the elementary and middle school levels in the classroom and as a gifted education specialist, most recently teaching 8th Grade Math and Science here at C.C. Griffin. I am very excited to join the administrative team here at C.C. Griffin Middle School, and look forward to a great year.
