Parent Participation Versus
If you are a parent who wants to participate
with your child in school activities that are open to all parents for participation,
you are not required to have a background check.
If you have any questions please contact your school’s administrators or your
child’s classroom teacher regarding opportunities for parent participation.
If you are a parent, a family member, or a
community person desiring to serve as a school volunteer then you are required
to have a background check.
Examples of how
school volunteers may be used include field trip chaperones, classroom
volunteers, assisting with enrichment opportunities, etc.
