Cabarrus County Schools is proud to announce the 3rd year of the
Cabarrus County Schools Programming Challenge. The challenge is
designed to give students in our schools who have a love for programming
and can use their skills to ethically design a viable solution to an
educational or community problem the chance to create an app or program
to solve the problem. The challenge will be open to Middle and High
School students starting September 21, 2015, and the final Challenge Day
will be held during the month of April.
View the Documents
page for more information about competing in the challenge. You will
find samples from the 2015 challenge and the documents needed to compete
in the 2015-2016 challenge.
In the classroom, students
are being asked more frequently to identify a problem and figure out a
solution to that problem. This is a great way to challenge our students
to think creatively and make their solutions a viable product.
the Programming challenge is developed, we hope to involve
local businesses to partner with us to motivate and encourage our
students. In particular we are looking for business professionals who
can speak with students about technology careers or how to market their
programs and apps after they have been created. If you know of anyone
who might like to be a guest speaker, donate prizes for students,
provide food on the challenge day, or help judge the challenge, please
have them contact
Betsy Bryan at email@example.com.
