NB process highlights:
  •  All four components must be attempted in the first three years of candidacy.   Those teachers or counselors who begin the process during the 2017-18 year may choose to complete the components one at a time, or complete all components during that year.
  • National Board will now charge $475 per component for a total of $1900.  Additionally, National Board will charge an annual processing fee of $75.      North Carolina will continue the loan process for eligible candidates.

Please go to the NC Public Schools (National Board) site to apply for the National Board SEAA loan:

  • The NB Standards, the Five Core propositions, and the Architecture of Accomplished Teaching will not change.  NB Certification remains performance-based and peer-reviews, with the same emphasis on content knowledge and commitment to student learning.
